Beaches are lovely.

First day we arrived mid day and then headed to the beach. Sara, Alex and I lounged (caroline was sleeping and trying to recover) and then get pedicures. I got a new belly button ring (a result of a piercing party during first year university) as I somehow lost the top ball on my existing ring in the jungle. Then dinner (which Caroline joined in on) and home to bed.

Day two boat cruise - We went on a fantastic boat cruise that included at least 5 stops. However, before getting off the boat at the first snorkelling stop I whammed my shin on the edge of the seat on the boat. It rapidly started swelling like I'v never seen anything swell before. It was about an inch out from my shin. I of course panciked and ended up with the LIT (annie) and a guy from the boat hodling ice on my leg and on the back of my neck while I sat on the floor of the boat 'cause I felt nauseous, dizzy, hot and cold, and like I was going to pass out. After a couple minutes I felt better and went to snorkel and the waves were really rocky and I was getting sea sick. My leg was sore, but bearable. Various stops were the viking cave where they collect bird nests to make bird nest soup, the beach where the film "The Beach" was filmed, 3 stops to do snokelling (the best snorkelling I've ever done - wish I had an underwater camera), a stop for lunch, and another gorgeous white sand beach. Overall, despire the injury a fantastic day. We went for dinner at an overpriced italian place that did not satisfy my pizza craving.....booo

Day 3 remote beach (rai ley beach) and massages

After brekkie we took a longtail boat over to a boat access only beach from which we walked to rei ley beach. It was gorgeous, not too busy, and the water was really warm. We bought fisherman pants from a hawker named "Top" which involved going to see the pants, choosing and taking our pair and then scurrying away as the mafia/poilice where coming -I think hawking things on the beach is illegal becasue everyone scattered. I then went to the bathroom with Rosie and Bernice. I discovered a new use for the sanitary host (or what is affectionately referred to by us foreigeners are the "bum gun"), we used it to hose down Bernice who was COVERED in sand despite the fact that she had been wearing a shirt.....god knows how that happened. Ah Well, I had a good time using that hose (such a sketchy concept).  We grabbed a bite (our cheeseburgers were really sketchy). WHen we got back we were informed we'd been gone an hour and half (time flys.....) and it was time to head back (Caroline had paid Top for my pants while I was gone). Upon our return Caroline and I showered and then headed to get massages. I got an oil massages for my poor back which was totally annoyed about the rough boat ride. Caroline got a Thai massage, a full hour instead of her usual half hour. She said she's definately doing a full hour from now on. I was totally relaxed/out of it after the massage and an over all happy kid. We then joined the group for a meeting about the nxt day's travels and then went for dinner. After dinner I did some internet with Alex while Rosie got her belly button peirced and Wes got his eyebrow peirced.......so sketch. THe guy's after care instructions included that neither of them could eat chicken for 2 weeks after getting thier peircings.....wtf. He, however, failed to mention how they shuold care/clean their peircings.......so glad I did not participate in that piercing party.
