Jolly good time in England
From England in England, United Kingdom on Mar 14 '05
We went to England during spring break to visit my brother-in-law and family. He is living there for a few years to work for an American company he worked for in Mexico and then in the U.S. and then England.
First we stayed in London for 3 days. We had perfect weather. We went on the London Eye during sunset, which had fantastic views of the city and of the parliament. We went to museums, Trafalgar Square, St. Martin's in the Field's church and had lunch in the basement restaurant, went on the "hop-on-hop-off" bus tour and visited the Westminster Abbey, St. Pauls Cathedral, London Bridge, Picadilly Square. One day we took a bus tour to Stonehenge, Salisbury and Bath.
We then took a train to Stoke-on -Trent to stay with my brother-in-law and family. We went to Liverpool and the Beatle's museum. We also went to Warwick Castle and the city of Chester.
During our stay we took every form of transportation. From the airport we had a hired car to take us to our hotel. We couldn't check in until 3:00 pm and we had arrived at 9:00 am. So we stored our luggage and walked to Trafalgar Square nearby and visited the museum. We were so tired as with the time change we had been up over 24 hours.
We also took city busses, double decker tour busses, taxis, walked, excursion bus, train, private cars, and subway.
