We went to Korea in winter so that we can ski. This is the first time we skiied. It sure was tiring and terrifying. Aili was really a stoner! She can just stone there and I was waiting for her to slide down so that we can "walk up" the slope again... We did not take the chair lift as that will be too high for us, we were beginners. After a long wait she finally came down...

Korea is place for BBQ food. Really liked their restaurants with BBQ facilities. Their dining tables were unique and their seasoning were suitable for my tastebud. Their korean ginseng chicken soup is a must try! Especially in such cold weather. I dont like Kim Chi that much though.

I am a Korean fan. My favourites include Full House, Spring Summer, Autumn, Spring and many many more movies and drama series. Here we got a chance to visit the site where "qiu tian de tong hua" was filmed. Haha so nice. The boat was towed using a few ropes, still unclear of its mechanism although the tourguide did explain to us. It was an ancient way of transportation. Impressive. The shops there sold many sourvenirs like keychains with the photos of the famous actresses and actors.

There was this theme park where you can have an up close and personal experience with lions and bears! The bus with large window panes went real close to these animals. I was filming with my videocam and I almost freaked out when I realised a big lion in front of me! My hands trembled... but it was really entertaining to see the bears praying to you and doing all sorts of funny "trained" actions. It's a must go!

Next would be the indoor and outdoor theme park. Lotte World and Everland were two theme parks that we went. Although we were afraid of rides we did took some of the not so frightening ones and found them so enjoyable! The greatest joke was we went inside a ghost house and realised it was in Korean! We could not understand and hence were not as afraid as the koreans! Haha by the way the theme parks were really huge!

Next Seoul is a shopping paradise, especially counterfeit goods. They have such a good catalogue of almost every brand and model. Some fake ones are even more expensive than the real ones on sale! The salesman would demonstrate the difference between real and fake goods by pouring water over them. There shopping consists of so many levels that it was impossible to finish shopping in one day. I like mashimaro, a korean cartoon. Hence I bought some car accessories back. Remember to slash price! Especially along the streets. My friend bargained with the uncle over a scarf and when she walked away without buying, he actually pulled my friend's bag and refused to let her go. In the end she bought. Anyway it's very cold!

The streets were also filled with litte shops and restuarants selling different kinds of food and clothes especially. However you can only find winter wear at this time. It would be relatively cheap to buy cardigans, scarfs and gloves here since they were plentiful and the shops were very competitive! I particularly liked the roasted squid here. They passed the squid over a grill or something and it really tasted very good! Can't find it in Singapore yet.

The traffic was quite bad in the city. A short ride may turn out to be very long due to the jam. If you think you can find handsome dudes and pretty girls everywhere you are wrong. I heard that almost everyone in Korea would go for plastic surgery when they enter university. Some parents will pay for their kid's surgical fees even or as a birthday gift. Double eyelid operations being the popular one. Tip: You would probably find more attractive people at the ski resort area than anywhere else...
