We flew to a city called Singapore and then three days later we got a coach to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. Everywhere it is very hot, a lot hotter than it ever is in England. We have to drink lots of water so we don’t get dehydrated and we need to put on lots of sun cream and wear our hats.
At the Perhentian Islands we made 3 friends called Izzy, Abbie and Max and we went snorkelling with them and saw loads of fish. At a different beach we found a big rope swing. Our Dad lifted us up to it and pushed us so we nearly hit the tree the rope was hanging from.

In Thailand we spent a week in Ko Lanta at Fisherman’s Cottages and a week in Ko Phi Phi at Ao Toh Ko hostel. It was very hot and the snorkelling was great. You could see under the water from the boat when we were going there. I asked Dad what those spiky things were and he said they were sea urchins and as well he said that if you stand on one of them it will really hurt and your skin will swell up. On the last day mum said ‘I really want you to go snorkelling with me so you can see a sea urchin’ and I said I might go. On the day before that we saw a big crab, it was really colourful and cool. The colours were purple, green, orange and red.

At the K Guesthouse in Krabi they had award winning pancakes and when we cwent down to the river we saw millions of crabs with one claw that was little and one claw that was big for digging. The crabs colours were red or orange, white and black so they looked like leaves to hide from birds. When my Dad waved his arms out in front of them they scuttled around because they thought he was a bird.
We got on the coach to Bangkok and it went overnight and we stopped at one place where we had tea and it was quite expensive but really nice and when we got to Bangkok we got dropped off at a funny place and then we needed to know how to get to the place that we were staying at so we were walking down the road and mum went into the 7/11 and it cost ovedr 10 baht to get a bus guide so instead we had a look at the the tuk tuks and he took us to the place we wanted and it was fun because it was the first tuk tuk that we had been in.

In Bangkok we went to an Indian restaurant and we had a chicken Korma curry and potato nan bread. We stayed in a place called Suk 11 and it had free breakfast and for 2 days we had tea with the family who owned it and it cost 60 baht each and for me and Stan it cost 30 because they thought that we could only eat half of the food but instead we were quite hungry and we ate three quarters of the food.
We got an overnight train to Chiang Mai it was very bumpy so I couldn’t get to sleep but it was cool how the seats turned into bunk beds.
Now we are in Chiang Mai and we went to a restaurant and Dad had a curry that he said was really nice so I tried a little bit of it. And I thought it was nice too.
After Chiang Mai we are going to get a slow boat to a country called Laos. The boat is going to take 2 days travelling down the Mekong river.
