"London Queuing.."

Arrived safely back in the home country.. Very early in the morning and I already feel grubby and I know that I will have another day traveling.  As usual Heathrow is BUSY !!!!! Transiting is a whole new experience for me as this is usually my end point for travel.  Off the plane like a herd of sleepy sheep and then into the transfer area...  would you believe that we have to go through security again and in a country with gold medals in queuing you would think that it wouldn't be such a fiasco.  There are 2 scanners and you all enter through one door and are expected to move through a line and if this is full continue to the next line -- simple I hear you say but I tell you not.  A) for all the non english speakers - they don't know how to queue in the first place; B) shouting in a strong laandan accent at these sleepy people does nothing to help and C) why does it have to be 900-degrees in here.

Once through this area after removing shoes, jacket and laptop I then had the joy of a 5 hr lay-over.  Wandered through the shoppes - but with the $ being worth next to nothing I could not justify a little retail therapy!!  Good old Starbucks to the rescue - able to spend some time there reading and enjoying a latte (only 10$)

Finally they call the Qantas flight and 450 people are shepherded through the gate and onto the 747-400 that we will call home to Sydney.

(can not seem to easily find an area to get my laptop on line to photos will come later)
