Hardcore painting & EmJ's family arriving!

Monday to Friday this week, it was a matter of serious getting down and into the mural for the painting of the animals, on the school wall. Hardcore it was starting at sunrise and finishing at sunset, making the most of the daylight hours. Even missed joining in with the children in pre-school, because we were on a mission to finish the mural before the team next week arrived. It is satisfying having something completed after a deadline, even if it did get sweaty working on the floor and hot during the midday sun. Sometimes it did feel relaxing and therapeutic when you got into the zone of painting! I even had painting apprentices to help me out, including Nishantha, Pradeep, Mehesh and Saraj. Every little helps!

Today we were joined by EmJ’s family, her parents John and Alison and younger sister Rosie. They arrived with Ronali, feeling quite exhausted, but ready to help out and see what EmJ’s been up to out in Sri Lanka. They were really lovely and stayed with us til Friday.
