Day 8 - (Glasgow to Fort William)

It is a gargantuan effort to leave the comfort of our own beds, so much so that Findlay insists that Mum and Dad come with us for the remainder of the trip.

The route takes us out of Glasgow and along the side of Loch Lomond. Beautiful most days, especially with the "white horses" breaking on the Loch. Major disappointment that the horses are "charging" towards us. The challenging wind is a feature of the day from mother nature, Zia & Ally.

While struggling along the cycle path, Findlay is savagely attacked by a devil dog. OK a westie went ape and nipped his ankle. While Findlay asked the number for the air ambulance, the others suggested the ball of fur had simply dribbled on to his socks.

The feed today is awesome.. boiled eggs, salmon rolls, muffins, doughnuts and Zia's mum provided Indian fayre of the highest order. Ally's wife even provided botulism in the shape of mouldy pieces. Lovely! "High Fashion" makes a suprise appearance with Findlay supporting leggings which show is god awful knees, Ally wearing tracky bottoms, seen only on Chaves and Sheila (Findlay's mum) supporting a fetching umpires hat.

A hard days cycling finishes with a couple of pints in (the local) and a top meal in the Tavern. The meal is so satisfying there is no room for the 17 malt loaves left!
