Been pruning for one week now. Hands hurt, back hurts and tired. The day begins at approximately eight in the morning and ends at five to five thirty in the evening. The work is (after a week) ok. I don't suck but I'm not the best one either. Money is ok and the weather is much, much better than in Blenheim. Again. Let's see how long i last...

The good thing here in Tauranga is the accommodation. When we first came to Tauranga, we decided to live in the car to save money. So booked a camping space from Tauranga Tourist Park for eleven bucks a day. The first night was ok since the weather was fairly good. Not raining too much nor too cold. The second night the rain was pouring and of course the car door started to leak water. After two hours of intensive McGyverism and shifting the car to different orientations and angles the leak was finally stopped. The following night was the coldest I've felt since the army. The sky was clear but the temperature dropped below zero. And so it did in the car too. In the morning a decision was made not to slept in the car anymore. So we traded the four nights we already had paid to two nights in the local Hilton Hotel or the cabin of the Tourist Park. We had two beds, a fridge, running water, heater and a television. Heaven. As we were about to leave and search for another place to stay (a co-worker's sister actually was about to rent a room for us) the owners of the park said that there was a trailer for lease at 80 bucks a week (per person). And of course we took the deal. And now we have a proper three rooms (trailer)house with electricity, running water, toilet, shower, gas and a very 70's decor. Excellent! No television thought but the camp has a small and comfy television room that nobody else uses. For the first time in a while feel a bit like having a home again
