Georgetown,Penang  Day 45

When we eventually woke from our slumber at 1130am we head straight out. Then wanted to head straight back indoors as it was so bleedin' humid!  We trudge abround the streets in search of a cafe for brunch but couldn't find any.  Ended up in a pub but the menu there was rubbish and i enede up having chicken spag bol! gReat breakkie eh!  We walked down to the quay and hopped on the free bus that was to take us around the heritage trail in Georgetown. We were the onyl tourists on the bus yet again. Not sure where the tourists have been the opast few months as we've been it!  We sat gawping out of the bus windows but dodnt see anything very appealing or colonial mmhhh!  30mins later we were back where we started oops oh well.  Went to the shopping mall and browsed around.  Then we hopped on a local bus to take us to Penang Hill.  The bus was chocoblock. A lady sitting behind us was touchign Lauars hair and say "ah golden" nooen touched my hair ;o(  Maybe it was because mine resembled "Wurzel Gummages"(scarecrow for all you non Brits) moptop! I really need to get to a hairdressers!  We got the funicular railway to the top of the hill which took 30mins and once again we were sweaty beasts, so uncomfortable i tell ya!  Was relieved to feel a slight drop in temperature when we eventually reached the top, phew.  It was a bit hazey as we looked over Georgetown and the haze turned into rain before long. That's what i get for opening my big mouth. I just asked the waiter in the bar when the monsoon season was. He said it was late this year.  Well it just arrived!  On our way back down the hill we were interview by a local college about Georgetown and why we came here. They were videoing us. Not sure we gave very good answers or if they understood our accent but we tired our best.

Monsoon Malaysia

Got the bus back to our street after getting down from the hill. The bus driver was very nice. He dropped us right next to our guest house- sweet ;o)  We to an Indian restaurant for dinner. Mainly Indians and Chinese in Malaysia.  We were happily eating our meal when a local guy came in and started playing the keyboard and singing very badly! The thing was we were the only ones in the restaurant! We were trying not to laugh. He was fair enjoying himself, shame we were not ha ha.
