World Cup Victory!
From The British Adventure - 1999 in Bridport, United Kingdom on Oct 29 '99
Soon it was back to Bridport to meet up with the others. They had all had fun in Europe and soon it was time to farewell the mother and friend. Not before seeing a bit more of the surrounding countryside. We did venture a bit further, up to Glastonbury and Cheddar Gorge for example. Glastonbury, its ‘moony’ atmosphere and its famous abbey were a highlight. Blenheim Palace was also a spot we passed by. Noted for being the birthplace of Winny Churchill, it was a fascinating and beautiful residence.
A special note must be made about the Rugby World Cup. I don’t follow rugby, but I did watch the two semi finals and the final. I loved it when the French beat the choking Kiwis almost as much as when the Aussies won the Cup by beating the French. It had been a great year for sport. United Treble, Aussies win World Cup cricket and now rugby. The only team to let me down was Melbourne, but it was well used to that!
