In the heart of Navajo Nation, we visited spectacular monument valley which has been the scene for many wild west movies. At monument valley, there are loads of massive rock formations, in all sorts of shapes (ranging from a giant elepant to a giant phallic object).

Most Navajos do not live in hogans anymore - they live in houses like everyone else in america. They still preserve traditional hogans however, up in the hills and other out of the way areas. We were lucky enough to stay in one such hogan, and Jimmy our Navajo guide gave us a musical perfomance with Navajo flutes, a 'drone' and drum, in a secluded spot in the hills - this was actually pretty moving as he was reallly good.
