Just missed Nessie
From 1 day to go! in Isle of Skye, United Kingdom on Aug 04 '06
Hello everyone!
We are now in the Isle of Skye and we finally took some time to communicate. The first two days in \Glasgow were great and i even had time to visit some relatives in Paisley. Aunt Rose and Colin were great hosts and they took care of us great. So here is a quick rundown of what we have been up to:
The plane ride was super cramped. We got no sleep but we were ready to go once we got picked up at 9 in Glasgow. We went downtown and toured, it was gorgeous. We had dinner with Mark's family and it was delicious but then we went straight to bed after a glass of wine or two. We slept for 12 hours (much needed.)
The next day we managed to pack in tons of sightseeing, we went to a gorgeous park and to paisley and then back to Glasgow. Ian was set to pick us up at the trainstation at 6 and we missed the train not once but twice! We are such tourists. It was incredibly frustrating but Ian didn't seem to mind at all. (but i'm sure he did deep down)
We then saw his wee ones and went to dinner at his new pad. Kids were crazy cute and the dinner was incredible. Thanks a lot to Jane for such an incredible meal. Ian then drove us to Edinburgh late that night. We told him not to (mom) but he wouldn't hear it). Edinburgh was amazing. The castle, the town, the sights. Sorry Glasgow but we have a winner. We stayed in a hostel for the first time and it was crazy busy and full of travelers.
The bus tour has been wonderful, we have seen Loch Ness (no monster, but we went on a boat), Culloden (just a field), many castles and we can't keep our eyes off the highlands.
we are off to GlenCoe and Stirling tomorrow then back to Edinburgh for the night and London in the morning.
Don't have a lot of time left on our minutes.
Michelle wanted to put in too many details than we can afford.
Trip = Awesome fun. Good time = us having
We will write again soon and if we didn't write in everyone's email addresss. Please send this site to them.#
Tonight we are staying with some Kiwi's (New Zealand folk), spent last night with Rick's family (Brown family). Can't wait to write more, miss everyone
Mark and Michelle
