Too much to do and see, so little time. We started with the Universeum which has 2 parts: a walk-thru 4 storey vivarium including the story of Swedish waterways, then ocean waters, then rainforest. On the other side of the building is a 2 floor science centre with really great exhibits and the best labells I've seen the whole trip. Also had a terrific gift shop but after only 2.5 hours we had to go to the next building, the World Culture Museum, which surprized me in its passionate, personal and evocative approach in its exhibitions.  Not wanting to be so close and not see the rest of this well-loved city, I ventured off for an hour to walk its famous street, ' the avenue'.  I didn't reach the canal as I hoped but at least had some sense of this city's personality.  I did find Frommer's accurate in it being the 'friendliest' Swedish city.

Too much to do and see, so little time.
