A city never looked so good as this one! After a very long flight and an incident involving a mouse we had at long last reached our destination -New Zealand. Having been here before, and dreamed about it many times since, I was very excited to be inthis amazing country and this time with my husband. There were so many things I wanted to show him that I could hardly wait to get going. Unfortunately we had to do things like eat and sleep first - uggh! I was going to have to wait (and Idespise waiting!) So we hopped on a bus and headed for our hostel in Auckland, the place we were to call home for the next 3 days. 3 days go by quick though when you spend the whole first one sleeping! After we recovered from our jetlagit was time to explore. There was a park that I had driven past on my last visit that I thought had looked pretty cool so I thought it would be fun to try and find it. It was along the ocean, there was a board walk and lot's of water activities going on. Well after some walking we did come upon it. Unfortunately the weather wasn't cooperating with my memory so it wasn't quite the same, but never the less it was beautiful. Along with this park we also spent tmewandering around the Viaduct, shops on Queen street, and Parnell- Auckland's version of Broadway inSaskatoononly a thousand times better. The restaurants and clubs around here are very"hip" and all of the shopstrendy and overpriced. What more could you ask for? We found a hostel in Parnell, so when we return at the end of our circuit we are going to book into it. It looks really nice and cozy! ( I wonder if it has a bathtub?)

One other thing worth mentioning is some of the real estate we came upon. These houses were amazing. They overlooked the Auckland harbor and as we found out later from a local -worth a mint - up around the 3 million mark. One house apparently has a gymnasium underneaththe pool. Now that's tough living!

That's all for now.
