The Corn Palace to the Badlands
From Michigan to South Dakota in Mitchell, United States on Sep 24 '06
On Sunday, September 24th we left Brooke and Tony's place in Portage, MI. We drove to Mitchell, SD. The next morning we went to the Corn Palace - the world's only Corn Palace. It is actually really cool. The outside of the building is decorated each year with the corn and other grains. Unfortunately, this is one of the only years in the Corn Palace's history that there was not enough rain to allow a redecoration of the entire palace.
We then drove to the Badlands National Park. It was really windy there, but not too cold yet! We drove through the park and we saw (up close) buffalo and many prairie dogs. We then drove to Rapid City for the night.
