Anne writing now

Started the day with synchronised torture in the hotel pool. Worse than that our personal trainer discovered a steam room and sauna. We were dragged through them all but felt better sometime afterwards.

Blarney Castle today. Some would say we have enough blarney to last a lifetime but when you kiss the stone, which we all did, you gain the ability to rabbit on for hours and hours, which we did. Light fingered Sue mistakenly took a guide book for us which was 4 Euro if you bought it. We all trudged up 109 very narrow stairs and kissed the stone, leaning backward to do it. Very lady like.

Then “She who must be obeyed” took us on a march around the grounds to a lake and also the rock garden which was very nice for some. We found the wishing stairs which where about 20 stairs up that you had to walk up with your eyes closed and down again only thinking of your wish, and if you did, your wish would come true within a year. We all did it, and the girls wished for the same thing, while the boys had their own wishes. We then went for coffee in yet another pub, best coffee we have had so far.

Got in the car and drove to Limerick, naturally stopping for yet another pub lunch. Sue and Anne are still in the back seat and things are very much out of control. Anne has decided that it is really time to start writing the “idiots I have known” book. Sue will be getting the first 15 chapters. Nigel, the sat nav, is doing a great job when Sue doesn’t second guess him. We are now in Galway at a B & B and of course we are off to pub for tea with live Irish music which will be very good. We haven’t eaten for 5 minutes. For those who are interested, Anne is still trying to diet and is managing. Sue is also being very good, Richard has developed a tape worm and constantly thinks of food shovelling everything in that he can. Rob is trying everything. One person gets a meal and we all sample it! They have discovered a beer that they love which Sue also likes, Smithwick’s with a Guiness head. Shame Anne isn’t able to drive the rent a car. If can not tell we are having a great time.
