Arrived in Auckland late Tuesday night, and the less said about getting there the better! No, it was pretty good actually. All are connections were timed with just a little time for any delays we might have, unfortunately, delays we had! Our flight to Heathrow was held over London for an hour which meant we had 45 minutes to catch our connection to Singapore! Oh the runs! Hadn't a a clue if we were supposed to collect our bags or not as our onward boarding cards could not be issued in Dublin so we'd to check in again in Heathrow! We just made it, second last to check in. They didn't charge for the bucket of sweat!! Singapore Air themselves were excellent though. Screens in every seat with all the latest movies and TV shows... I settled for Shrek 3, Spiderman 3, Blades of Glory and a bit of Father Ted! Ironically it was the episode Ted and Dougall are couped up in the back of a caravan! I precursor I hoped not! Free beers helped the whole process along nicely! The connection in Singapore was a bit smoother, we just had to check our bags were following us! They were!

Got to Auckland feeling pretty good, with a few hours sleep behind us. Immigration was smooth, and after avoiding a dodgy "taxi" driver trying to coach us to his car in the car park we found the real taxi rank and headed to our hotel.

Class hotel, balcony looking out to the harbor and up to The Auckland Museum. Crashed out. Happy Days.
Headed into the city next day, real cool spot. Biggest city in the South Pacific apparently but so chilled out and friendly. Had lunch, gorgeous sea food chowder in a cafe at the bottom of the Sky Tower, then headed up the tower itself! Awesome. Got the free bus up to the University area near our hotel and walked back to our pad through Albert Park. Decided to get a quick sleep before heading out somewhere for dinner that evening, woke up 5 hours later at half 9! Room service it was!

Thursday - Last day in Auckland for now! Headed up to a place called The Domain and The Auckland War Museum. Lovely place, with great views of the city and beyond as well as a perfect spring day to boot! Bottom floor of the Museum was dedicated to Mauri history and the New Zealand Land Wars and was very interesting. The upper two levels you could have been in any museum anywhere really, the world wars and natural history, nothing new. Although the Volcano section was good, considering we were standing on a former one! And the previous night Mount Reuphue had erupted! Out for dinner in Euro that night, very classy. Felt way under dressed until some mess fell off her chair! Steamed!
