Our day trip to Martha's Vineyard was really nice. We took the ferry to the island around 9:35 and arrived around 11:15. We had the option of taking a faster ferry, but the price is almost twice as much as the 'traditional' which is not cheap to begin with ($37). The ferry goes back to Hyannis around 5pm... 6 hours in Martha's Vineyard is not enough to experience everything this island has to offer.
We had told our friends that we should go on the trolley tour around the island, however, we found out that the trollies were officially retired. They offer the same tour on this 'school' looking buses.. what??? no way. We then decided to get a one day pass on the island public transportation and be the tour guides to our friends and family.
More than the island where Jaws was filmed!
First stop... Edgartown. I believe it was everyone favorite town in the island. It has such a cool vibe. We walked main street and made a little turn into this place that has one of the most amazing paintings you will ever see. Don't miss it if you go there.
Second stop... Vineyard Heaven. I'm going to be honest... this little town looked really nice...however... I was feeling really sick from reading on the ferry...that I couldn't really enjoy it.
Back to Oak Bluffs... we waited for the ferry in this little mall right in front of the dock. It has really nice restaurants and cool bars. Don't miss the Ginger Bread houses. The way back to Hyannis seemed a lot faster... the girls were seated inside the ferry spending some quality time together. I went to the back and enjoy the view and weather.
Back in Hyannis... everyone was ready for a good dinner. Amy and I had the perfect place for everyone... Spankys. We had the best dinner on the cape that night. The food, view and company cannot get any better!
