This morning, Char and I had breakfast at our hotel in Florence (complete with Nutella... yay!). Subsequently, we went to the Galleria degli Uffizi which is the biggest and most famous art gallery in Florence. The art was awesome—we saw a ton of famous Renaissance paintings and we also saw a bunch of Rembrandts and Michelangelo’s... gorgeous! Afterwards, we went to the Santa Maria del Fiore (again) and went on the inside. Finally, we went to the Cappelle Medicee which was GREAT (I especially liked the tombs made by Michelangelo and the reliquaries... creepy!) Afterwards, we grabbed some sandwiches to go and caught the last train to Rome (we got there as it was leaving... such a close call!

We arrived to Rome at 6pm and immediately walked to our hotel. When we got there; however, they didn’t have a room for us and sent us to another hotel. The hotel that they sent us to was quite sketchy, but it will just have to do for tonight. Once we dropped our stuff off, we walked to a restaurant where I had the best tortellini and white wine of my life. After spending a few hours chatting and splitting a half liter, we went to a local café to have some dessert. The tiramisu that Char and I split for dessert was simply amazing. Additionally, Char loved her wine and I loved my mojito (which better than what “Sharon” and I used to make over the summer).
