We left Lucca around 9:30 a.m. and headed back to Nice to return our rental car, spend the night and catch the TGV to Lille Europa, connecting to the Eurostar through the chunnel to London. We did count all the tunnels from Lucca to Nice and there were 184. We think we spent more time in a tunnel than not!
Taking the train across Europe was great. We went speeds over 200 miles per hour while eating, drinking, sleeping and just taking in the countryside...
