After we visited yaletown we took a walk to False Creek on the waterfront. Granville Island is just across the water and there are seabuses that take you over to the island.
"False Creek Ferries has been operating passenger ferry service, and sightseeing tours in False Creek since 1982. Starting with two electric ferries running between Granville Island and the North Shore, the idea of water-borne transit in the Creek slowly, but surely, became accepted. After more than twenty years, the "little blue ferries" are firmly established as an integral part of public transit in Vancouver. The ferries provide an inexpensive and fun way to travel to Granville Island."
there are parks and tennis courts and you can hire bikes to ride along the waterfront.
