Lou turns 50

Lou's big day started the night before the 15th with a Classical music concert in Heilbron which she attended with Kay. It was a great way to start proceedings. On the big day we awoke to find Kay had set out a cake, presents and cards on the sideboard which was a pleasant surprise and looked wonderful. First part of the day was a trip to Bad Wimpfen where breakfast was to be had at the Fyerarbend Cafe. Bad Wimpfen is a beautiful old village with very old buildings that survived the war. The cafe is in one of these buildings and it was a very pleasant experience having breakfast there. Scrambled eggs, pretzels, buns, coffee and more. A very nice way to start the birthday off. Must have spent at least 2 hours there. Then it was back home for a while where the cake was cut, presents were opened and more tea and coffee. That night was the birthday dinner which was in a castle overlooking the Nekar river and even though it was night time it was great looking out at all the lights of the villages around the Nekar valley. A magic place with excellent food, great service and good wine. Lou even got a rose and a bottle of wine from the Maitre D for her birthday. It was a fitting end for a special day for Lou and the culmination of a great 6 weeks for Tony who left the next day for home.
