Vancouver has to be up there with Boston as one of my favourite places this trip. our visit started well, on arriving we headed straight to the docks to meet up with Clint and Miles, two friends of mine I met while travelling in Asia 5 years ago. Miles had organised the hire of two speedboats and the plan was to head out into the sunshine and amazing scenery and do some swimming. The weather was great and the views spectacular. Driving the boats was amazing fun, if I don't become a pilot, I may become a skipper instead.

That evening we headed into downtown Vancouver with some of Miles' mates and went to a fashion / art gallery opening at a swanky bar. The drinks were free and the models pretty so all was good in the world. We headed onto another bar after for some pool and beers.

The next day we went to the Red Bull Flug Tag; an annual event where lunatics try to make an unpowered flying machine and then run off a peir with it to inevitably crash into the water mearly metres from the dock. It was a fun event and some of the contestants machines were inventive, if not very aerodynamically sound. We drove through Stanley Park and went to the Capilano Suspension Bridge (longest foot suspension bridge) which is pretty vertigo enducing given all the swaying.

That evening we had a BBQ at Krysta's house; a friend of Miles we had met the previous night. She had very generously offered to put us all up for the night so we spent the evening enjoying the views over the water from the balacony of her West Vancover mansion - nice!
