I arrived on Monday and time is going quick already. I got here safe and sound after passing through Newark and Atlanta. I was met at the airport by one of our staff called Alexis, I was soooo glad to have someone there to pick me up. We drove to San Ignacio along the Hummingbird Highway and stopped off at Hattieville Prison, it still gets me that they have a gift shop and cafe there, the better behaved prioners get a chance to get out for a few hours and do some work.. The things in the gift shop are really nice, some of them have real talents. I think moving towards a more rehabiliative structure is good, giving people chances to expand their skills etc.

Arrived at the office and there was noone there!!! What a welcome!! So anyway went to buy some shampoo and ran into Eddie, he is an artist here and I have met him all the times I have been here so far.  We went for a beer at Cocopelle and hung out for a while, then we went over to Dominic and Siobhans house for dinner, it was really lovely, thai chicken mashed potatoes and mango salad... mmmm. Went home and shared a shower with a big red bug about two inches long yikes!! I kept my eyes open so it wouldn't jump on me and ended up getting shampoo in my eyes YOUCH

So I arrived on Monday and time is going quick already

Yesterday was full of cleaning and setting up house, its starting to look a little more homely now, but still a bit empty, I guess over time that will get sorted out. Hung out with my nieghbour Mayra lots she is really nice and I am looking forward to spending more time with her. In the evening I met up with Maurice and we had a few drinks. Not feeling too homesick yet!
