Ok. So I am just writing all this stuff down from memory, as it is the 7th day of our cruise and I definetaly did not keep up with my blogging. Ok. So the port of Corfu Greece. What did we do... hmmm...Oh right!! We decided to book tours for all our ports just because this is more of a culture cruise than a beach cruise, so we though it would be better to have a guide then try and go around by ourselves. The tour took us to the Achillion palace, which was the summer residence of Empress Elizabeth of Austria. The streets were so small, our tour bus ran into a couple of problems when trying to climb the road while another car was trying to come down. But we finally made it to our destination. It is the “famous” point for Corfu, and was more of a manor than palace. We were only allowed on the 1st floor, and there were only four or five rooms to have a look through. It was frightfully hot, and I thought I was going to pass. But I used my ticket as a fan so it made it bearable. Then the guide took us out to the gardens, which I found quite beautiful. It was very peaceful and a place that I would love to have as a home. The garden over looks the sea and the town and is carefully groomed with a huge statue of Achilles overlooking the sea (he was Elizabeth’s hero) The garden extended to two floors, and the upper was like the deck, but also featured statues and a fountain as well. It wasn’t the best place to have been to, but it was pretty nice. We then took the bus down the the old town of Corfu and walked around the little streets for awhile, looking at the wares. I had really wanted to go take a look at the old Venetian fortress on the other side, but we didn’t have enough time or enough time to sit down and have a cold drink. It’s been so hot! Coming from the cold weather of Calgary its been hard handling the heat without becoming sleepy during the peak of the day. Now you know why they have siesta! So we returned to the boat and most likely had an ice cream because that is basically our routine. Sleep, get up, have breakfast/lunch which is usually a club foccacia sandwich (yumm) have ice cream, do something, have ice cream, get ready for dinner, eat, go to the show, check out the lido/food, then sleep. It is a pretty good routine I would have to say. I half-forget what shows we watched each night, and I don’t think it’s that critical as it is more a boat thing than a country thing.

I decided that since I am just updating it today (im in rome right now actually) we took such a large amount of photos on the cruise that I'm just going to put down a couple for each entry because there is way to many!

It was frightfully hot, and I thought I was going to pass.
