Stroll. Sit. Read. Chat. Scribble. Wander.

This is a fairy tale city, a small town really, particularly appealing because it's so walkable. One can get off the train (we flew into Frankfurt and took the train to H), take a tram to the old town, and immerse onself without having to navigate a metropolis like Berlin. It's a great town to sink into, to wake up late, to chat over rich kaffe and brotchen, to take long strolls along the hillsides. To wander. To read. To scribble in a journal. The middle of September was perfect: sunny skies, balmy weather, fewer tourists. It's the accumulation of the little details that gets to you -- the rhythm of its rooftops and windows, its doorways, its colors. The romance of narrow cobbled streets. The Philosopher's Walk, of course, and the Castle. The old town restricts traffic, so it is quiet. Marvelous get-away spot.
It's a great town to sink into...
