Big presentation on the Ring Cycle tomorrow. It’ll be fun though! I wrote a short skit called "Ring Cycle (Abridged,) and Lindsay is doing a Wagner Jeopardy game. We also have a hand out with fun facts, such as:

Wagner insisted that real animals be used in his Bayreuth production of the Ring Cycle. Fricka had real goats, Wotan had real messenger ravens, and Siegfried had a real bear and toad.

And

During WWII, the Bayreuth Festival was taken over by the Nazis and wounded soldiers were forced to attend not only the operas, but also the pre-concert Wagner lecture. This was, by most accounts, tedious for all involved, but as special "guests of the führer," no one complained.

Today has been weird. I ate Sri Lankan food last night and the leftovers for breakfast this morning (I ran out of food!) And my stomach’s been feeling bad all day. I hope I don’t have food poisoning. The food tasted really good at the time; it’s like Indian. Mmm... I miss the Indian buffet.

We went to the Schoenberg Center today for our field trip. Really interesting guy. You really only hear about his compositional achievements, but he was somewhat of a Renaissance man. Painter, inventor, writer.
