Sorry folks if this is jumping around a bit. We went into Orleans in the evening. After a short drive round we parked up and went into the main sq to find somewhere to eat. There was quite a bit of choice but when your only 20 inches high the choice is a bit limiting.

Anyway Mum & Dad quickly found themselves a seat and began admiring the surrounding views. We watched the feet and legs go by...we had a couple of nice monents  though...a party of german school children went by and all starting ah and ooh at us....we loved it ...lots of petting and saying how great we were...does wonders for the old ego!

There was a bit of a party atmosphere going on as the restaurant had a tv for world cup

The other moment was a small frisson of excitement...a french pooch went by...we decided we did not like him and he did not like us...so we saw him off and after a quick bit of teeth gnashing we realized we had nearly pulled the table over. Poor mum & dad were embarrassed as we were not on best behavior!

We spyed a british couple on the next table to us and saw with some delight they had fallen into the old trap of ordering steak tartar. They get fooled into thinking its steak and chips and don't realize its raw steak with egg...we think it would be lovely but most brits dont. We watched the plate longlingly for ages after they had left ...hoping...wanting...waiting...but to no avail.

There was a bit of a party atmosphere going on as the restaurant had put a big screen tv out for people to watch the Germany v Portugal match. I so wanted Germany to win and after half time it was still 0-0 I was getting worried. However in the time it took us to travel back to the hotel (about 20 mins) Germany had got 3 goals!  wundebar as they say...and that has truly wiped the wink and smile of the face of a certain Portuguese player....

Anyway back to the hotel for a hot night in the room no doubt.....
