After our visit to Santiago, our little group of two grew to be four! Marcela`s cousins, Consuelo and Loreto, were on summer vacation from school and had never visited the northern part of Chile. So, we invited them to come along with us and they happily accepted! And off we went to the very popular beach city of La Serena. Now that we were four we could afford to rent ourselves a little cabin which came in handy for our cooking. We visited the beach, the Recova market, the famous Elqui valley (where they make the best pisco ever!), Coquimbo, and the Cross of the III Millennium! We kept busy for four days and then took off to Caldera. Oh, and if you`re wondering about the "ovalle" title....well, if you ever go to the bus terminal in La Serena, that`s where you will be offered to go to over and over again (they are very persistent!)!
