Lake Como, Italy

In the morning we headed away from Cinque Terre and headed to Lake Como via Milan.  We stopped into Milan and did a bit of window shopping and actually made a couple of small purchases... everything is so expensive here... then we had lunch at a cafe on one of the corsos and it wasnt until afterwards that we realised we were charged 9 euros for 1 can of coke and the same for 1 beer (ouch). Around 4pm we headed to Lake Como and arrived around 6pm and checked into teh campsite where we pitched our tent for the very last time, beside the lake with all the mountains surrounding us... much better than Milan as far as scenery goes... we decided to stay here until it was time to fly out as opposed to going back to Milan for one night. That night, in the middle of the ngight we were rudely awoken by someone in the tent next to us very loudly snoring... alllllll night long!!!!!!!! So we had a very bad interrupted sleep that night... I (Michelle) ended up going into the car to sleep so the snoring would be muffled a little bit and I could get some sleep... but my legs kept going dead because fo the way I was sleeping. GRRRHH! Thursday, 13 September 2007 IN the morning we woke up and walked to the supermarket to buy eggs and bread and then cooked our breakfast at the campsite.  After this we went for a drive around the lake for a while, stopped for coffee and purchased some ear plugs so we could get some sleep tonight, then decided there wasnt much more to see so headed back to the campsite and walked down to the lake where we had antipasto for lunch with wine and spent the afternoon relaxing in the sun (about 25 degrees) and Johny went for a quick swim in the lake but it was too cold to stay in there long. That night we had a quiet dinner then put our ear plugs in and fell asleep not having to listen to the snoring again. Friday, 14 September 2007 In the morning we walked to the shop again to buy breakfast and afterwards we did a thorough cleanout of the car and packed all the bags ready to leave tomorrow for London.  After this, we sent our last box home via the post and had coffee and spent a couple of hours in the internet cafe, then more lazing around in the afternoon.
