To be honest we didn't see much in Penang - we arrived on a late night flight so by the time we made our way to our hotel (which we had booked ahead in KL) we were fit for bed. The next day we lounged about the hotel pool & adjoining beach area, the overcast weather but a dampner on things so we were far from happy when we felt rain drops fall on us as we read our books pool side! There was nothing else to do but head across the road to the only open restauraunt which happened to be an Indian so we pigged out and had some beers - getting used to doing that over here!

That night we took a taxi to Georgetown - town itself is fabulous - old style buildings. Had a bit of a crazy night drinking in a pub called the Tiger Arms. Met a group of English guys and hung out with them for the night - good fun was had by all! The taxi home was a headache for the girls as when I heard Boyzone on the radio I suddently decided I was a really good singer - not something you want to hear on the best of days, let alone after a few beers ;)

As the girls are limited with time we didn't stay long in Penang to discover what it had to offer so got on the first ferry out the next morning to Langkawi - was tough going after all the beer from the night before! We had to take a mini bus from Kuala Kedah back on the mainland in order to get on a ferry to Langkawi - it was a long, long morning but we managed to make it go a little quicker with a game we devised called the "iPod game"! It involes two of us picking a song and sticking in the headphones while miming it with actions of course for the other peron - great fun for all the long journeys but I think the people stuck beside us on buses/ferries etc think we are a bit mad........

When we finally arrived in Langkawi and got in an air conditioned cab we were over the moon!
