We then traveled to Hiroshima to visit the atomic bomb museum.  It was a sobering afternoon--seeing the wreckage that one bomb wrecked on millions of innocent people, especially children, was hard.  It was interesting to see Japanese citizens who were alive when the bomb was dropped--their faces suggested there was a big story that could only be known so fully by living through that period.  The museum was very well balanced--the Japanese take blame for starting U.S. involvement in WWII, and the dropping of the bomb was phrased in the passive voice: a bomb was dropped by the U.S.--rather than the U.S. dropped a bomb--very diplomatic.

We hit a Teppin place for lunch--where they slice an dice your food in front of you.  It was delicious, but the five ounces of beef was significantly less than we Americans are used to...We stayed at another Ryokan that was quite nice, though we had more Kansekii--cuisine that tastes at times delicious, like the ocean, and which is always beautiful, but honestly, not that fun to eat.  Also, everything is ten and fifteen courses but it:s all in Japanese so you don:t know what you are eating or how much more is coming.  I was ready by the end to have some control over what I was getting...

Let:s get rid of our nukes, and get the world to follow
