Today was going to be a long drive day. We wanted to go all the way to Tin Can Bay. So we were on the road by 9:15, which is not bad for 10 people and 2 house holds. We stopped for lunch along the road somewhere in the middle of nowhere (those are the best places) .and saw some beautiful birds.
The kids got lots of school done! Nothing too interesting to see along the way. The landcsape is getting a little hillier, we saw a few echidnas along the road.
Had to stop for the huge cacti we saw. Also saw some banana, citrus and ofcourse mangoe plantations.

Quick stop in Maryborough to mail school stuff and get groceries and we made it to Tin Can Bay before dark. Lots of forestry going on in this area.
For supper we opened some tin cans, how can you resist in a place with this name!
The nights are much cooler and for the first time since Perth we had to pull out something warmer to wear.
Got up early the next morning to see the dolphin feeding. Two dolphins came to shore, they were Indopacific Humpback dolphins. Larger than the ones we saw in Monkey Mia and also hungrier. These dolphins were fed a small snack of 50-60 fish each! At least we all got a turn to feed them his time and more than once if you wanted too. The dolphins were soon gone after the fish were done.

Did a little fishing of the dock and saw hundreds of soldier crabs marching the beach.
In the afternoon we explored Rainbow Beach which is supposed to have oloured sand dunes.
You have to use a little imagination but the cliffs in the background are coloured and so could look like a rainbow.
The water was nice and the sand was beautiful squeeky white.

We unburried a log, slid down the dunes and left our name and some footprints behind.
