Arriving in Christchurch was just like arriving in Oxford or Cambridge. It is a delightful town (well they call it a city but its not really) and a very pleasant place to start my Kiwi adventure. I met up with Claire, my trip buddy, and we spent 2 days seeing the sights. We had a fun afternoon kayaking down the river through Christchurh with another English guy, Raj, thankfully i did not fall in! The museums and Art gallery were great and all in all a very nice place to start with.

On April the 3rd, we headed out to Christchurch airport to mee our Campervan. We decided to name him Josef (after the Glacier). he was a lovely little fellow who looked after us very well! Tuesday saw us heading through the Canterbury plains to Lake Tekapo, where we bedded down for the night. We managed to read all the instructions and had no real teething problems and had a pretty good nights sleep. We awoke in the morning to a fantastic view of the lake and decided to head for Mt. Cook who we could see in the distance!
