After leaving Rio we embarked on a 22 (More like 25!)hrs bus journey to Puerto Iguazu. We had intended to spend one day in Foz de Iguazu (Brazilian side) but it ended up being cheaper to go to the Argentinian side. We arrived in Puerto Iguazu and stayed in a decent hostel for the first night. We checked out this quaint town that night where there were more cats than people around. The next day we headed to our new hostel outside the town on the way to the Falls. It was called the Hostel Inn and it was more of a beach resort than a hostel. It was meant to be a Hotel but the owners ran out of money so the hostel chain took it over and finished it off. The rooms were lovely and there was an excellent swimming pool thrown in. It was great to take advantage of a bit of luxury while we could and we enjoyed out first day of relaxation. There was a barbie on that night with free Cocktails and a samba show. We took up the offer of the free drinks and ended up meeting quite a few people that night including an Irish gang from Louth!

The next morning we heading off at 8am to the Argentinian side of the Iguazu Falls feeling a little bit worse for wear. We had heard from a lot of people what a spectacular place this was but it really has to be seen to be believed. We decided to start off by getting the boat trip up and under the falls. We got absolutely soaked as the boat swept under a massive waterfall 3 times and we were well woken up after that. We headed to a small Island called San Martin for our first trail. We got a few pictures there after climbing some really steep steps where upon reaching the top we came face to face with a massive lizard. We let him off first and then continued our Journey. We spent the rest of the day covering the rest of the trails and getting pictures of the Falls from every angle possible. We arrived back in our hostel that night totally exhausted but delighted with the experience.

The next day we travelled to the Brazilian side of the Falls with the help of a transfer from our hostel. We decided that Keiths journey of 3 buses wasn´t worth the trouble so we took the handier option. The Brazilian side had some lovely views but it just didn´t match up to the Argentinian side as an overall package. We spent most of the afternoon there and then headed into town to book the bus to Buenos Aires for the following day. We were up early the next morning to enjoy the 30 degrees heat before our journey as it only gets colder from here on.
