The Drive

We passed by Santa Barbara and we came to very posh Vista Inn.  But there were no rooms available.

The drive ended with having a nice time at San Luis Obispo

We stopped by a mariner's restaurant and had decent food.   It was actually a very cool place as it had bones of humungous whales and sharks on the wall.

We finally decided to stop by San Luis Obispo which is not a city that either of us knew.  We pulled in late at night and wanted to find a Inn to stay in.  Downtown didn't seem to have hotels or inns so we had to ask the gas station attendant.   We found the hotels... a few blocks of them in fact.

We looked and looked and decided the nicest one was the last one we saw.  It was La Cuesta Inn.

Hanging Out At SLO

SLO is actually a really nice and cute down.  Downtown was walkable from our hotel.  The stores were nice and there were a few local shops that weren't so expensive.  I think I prefer SLO more than Santa Barbara.  Maybe a bit less architecture but I like the casualness of the town.   In terms of food, there weren't actually that many things open on Sunday.  We just had a nice chicken caesar salad at one of the delis.   And no, I didn't buy any clothes.

So at the end, we spent a little bit more than half a day at a very nice and casual town and enjoyed it a lot.

Then we were were on our way home .. back on HWY1.    It was again a nice day and I took a nice nap on our drive back with the beautiful ocean right beside me.
