First full day in Santa Monica

We woke up at 8.00am as we wanted to do the free excercise class at the hostel. For some reason the woman didnt turn up so we decided to go for a jog (shock to the bodies which were in holiday mode) we jogged 30 minutes or so to Santa Monica beach and then along the beach path. The beach is very wide and seems to go on for some distance in both directions. We got back to the hostel and had breakfast. We then looked around the local street market which had stalls of local farmers selling their fruit, veg and fresh meats. From here we walked to the beach and along Santa Monica peir which has a Bubba Gump Shrimp Company restaurant (the one out of the film Forrest Gump) Afterwards we lay on the beach and caught some sun and ate lunch. The weather was better today, clear blue sky and sun. We realised we were burning abit so we walked back to the hostel where we sat in the courtyard for a while as Meg read (3rd book of trip!) and Andy dozed. We then walked to the post office on Arizona and 5th street and got stamps and posted cards back home. We came back to the hostel and had dinner and found that the cleners had mistakenly given some of our food away as 'free food' so we have to see the hostel manager tomorrow. Later we went for quite along walk to Main Street which has nice shops but unfortuantly they were closed! Came back to hostel and booked a trip for tomorrow called LA & movie stars homes tour.
