On our second full day in Iceland, we spent a lot of time outside having fun in the fantastic weather!  Apparently it rains a lot in Iceland so we were lucky for the sun and heat.

We went to Seljalandsfoss, a great waterfall that you can walk behind.  You get absolutely soaked, so bring your coat!  It was a quick stop but I could have stayed there all day.

Next we went to Skogar, an awesome town.  From the road you can see Skogafoss, a beautiful waterfall that comes crashing down the hillside behind the town.  It is 186 feet tall and to the right of it was a nice hiking path that we followed to the top, complete with stairs.   The view from the top was the best, with two rainbows stretching in the mist below the falls.  We got some awesome pics.  The town of Skogar also has a fantastic folk museum that cannot be missed, we saw a lot of neat pieces of Iceland´s history.

The last thing we did before the long haul to our next accomodation was go to Reynisfjara, a black sand beach with awesome basalt caves to one side.  We collected black sand and perfect black stones from the beach for a possible art project when we get home.

We stayed in Gerdi, a little farmhouse in the middle of nowhere.  We had our own private bathroom and great views!  Very peaceful.
