Li Bing was an Engineer who create a system to save people from drowning in flooding rivers. He developed a system called the Fish Snout. An island was built in the river. The channel near to you was used for canals and irrigation. When the river would flood, the near channel was blocked with baskets of stones, and the flooding water was sent to the far channel.
