Review of Four Courts Hostel

My experience in this hostel has been an overall "good" rating.  I will break my stay at this hostel into sections.

Location:  This is a great location because it is far enough away from the major tourist section but close enough that walking is easy.  You do have a river side location which is nice but my room is also located on the main street, and every big truck or bus that goes by, the bed shakes.  But when you are tired, it is hardly noticed.  Oh yeah, when I arrived I got off at the stop the bus driver said and I had to walk a couple of blocks, so the direction but on the hostel's website and "Let's Go, Western Europe!" where incorrect, a little confused for the first 15 minutes.

People: The staff is pleasant, but not the most helpful.  I found that the  front desk staff tried their best but  I found  out more on my own then from them.  Actually more from a great tour guide, but that is another story.  As per the people in my room, everybody seems nice but nobody talks to each other, I thought this was a going to be a great way to meet people, I was wrong.  Let's hope the other hostels and people are of better attitude.

Room & Amenities: The room is pleasant, with some storage under the bed but only enough for one person per bunkbed.  Basically a first come first serve basis.  The linens are clean, but I don't like the idea that I am sleeping under a bed cover, with no sheet to protect me from anything living in it.  I only think things are living in it because I got a bite last night and I don't know what from, but I didn't have it when I was in Scotland at a wonderful B & B.  The bathrooms are decent but then you can't expect greatness when you are sharing it with some 30 women.  There are only 2 showers, 2 sinks and 2 bathrooms for everyone.  By the end of the day, it gets quite gross toward the end of the night.  I had to take a shower today, so I tried to go earlier in the morning, as not to have to endure the gross scene at the end of the night.

Free continental breakfast is what is included.  This would be okay if it actually included  some fruit.  All you get is toast and cereal.  Then you have to wash your own dishes.  I think tomorrow before I leave Dublin for Killarney that I will go out and buy breakfast, at least then I will be full on something healthy!
