“a literature pub crawl” |
Here we are our last stop in Europe Dublin, Ireland to spend 2 weeks with Ian Forrest and his 9 month pregnant wife Jen.
Dublin is a great city with lots of cultural activities, plenty of pubs and of course our family. We spent a lot of our time trying to get Jen into labor. Though unsuccessful, we will see the little tyke around Christmas. Ian and Jen took us all aroun town, to their favorite pubs and restruants, we tried traditional Irish Boxty and a few Guiness.
We spent a lot of time winding down and enjoying not having to move our backpack "again". Jen and Ian live in Sandycove which is right on the water. A great little town to walk around, where there is a farmers market on Sundays an a small boardwalk on the Sea.
On evening we did a literature pub crawl, which consisted of actors touring you around the city and putting on little skits and monologes from Irish writers all ina pub crawl. I ended up winning the quiz at the end of the tou to win the famed literary pub crawel T-shirt. It was a pretty interesting tour.
One day we went to Powerscourt a beautiful old manor and gardens, which is now a place for lunch and weddings. We met up with friends from the US for dinner. and enjoyed several nice evenings at home with family.
