Fongo-Tongo- Orientation filled with hikes, getting to know people, learning to chop vegetables SIT mama style. Noupa testing my horrendous french skills.
Dschang- Adoption Ceremony. Our families were kept secret until they were announced at the fete. Down and up the hill about a 15 minute walk past the beignes, the carpenter and the school to the SIT Office. A 25 minute walk up hill to Universite de Dschang. Late nights studying by candle light. They gave me my firs taste of cleaning, washing, cooking and bathing Camerounian style. I cooked stir fry one night and it was quite a hit! Hours upon hours of broken french with Sarah, Carrie and Noupa. Le Tortue! They named their newborn baby,Sarah Hopkins in honor of the daughter they had in the Fall and me, their daughter in the Spring.
