What a long boring day we had this day....

We left La Guardia Airport New York City at 7.30am and got into Detroit at 9.30am.  We were told we could get on the midday flight to Las Vegas instead of our original flight time of 7.30pm that day.

We got on the standby list and missed out by one seat.  We had to sit at Detroit airport till 7.30 that night because we had checked in and our luggage was already through security so we could not leave and do any sight seeing etc.   Today was the worst day. Jake was so well behaved and didnt complain once.  I wont mention how many times I complained!!!

Today news hit about the Glasgow bombing.....Security has stepped up somewhat and there is police and security guards walking around.  When I went through security I was selected for extra screening.  Meaning that I had to go through this special area that blows burst of air on you (I think its to pick up signs of chemicals etc) and then have my bags searched. In my on board luggage I had put in a bottle of perfume that was over a 100 ml and they are meant to throw away anything that is of that size and not in a seperate plastic bag....The guard told me to hide it and not tell anyone she let it through????  I can see how they are really serious about their security... Not!!

Luckily for us Detroit airport is an international airport and is quite large.  They have over 80 gates and an internal monorail system to go from one end to the other so atleast there was lots of shopping I could do..:-)

We finally got on our flight and got to Vegas at 9.30 pm....

We picked up our second rental car and headed towards Los Angeles.  We stopped in Prim Valley about 30 - 40 mins outside of Vegas.  There is a large outlet shopping mall and a couple of Casino's...

We stayed the night at Buffalo Bill's Casino.  It was a quarter of the price of Vegas Casino's are quite similar standard so we were happy, plus it has a large roller coaster so that kept Jake amused for a while....
