These guys go out of their way to make sure that everyone staying there has a good experience. Carl, the owner, likes to bake, so many days include his baking specialties for breakfast. However, he also has students from the Culinary Institute coming to do breakfast on weekends and some weekdays, so there's a lot of variety. For information, go to their website.
The house is about a 25 minute walk to the convention center, but is only a 10 minute walk to the state capitol, and the end of the free trolley line on 16th Street. That means that walking to the convention center only takes about 15 minutes.
The neighborhood is interesting. There are many magnificent mansions, and museums in walking distance. The contrast is Colfax Avenue, three blocks north. Colfax is the main east-west drag through town, and can feel a bit seedy in places. However, step one block south, and everything feels pretty normal.
