We arrived in Denver at the Casa Kosanovich (a.k.a. Monica & John's loft in Lower Downtown Denver). They were actually in Pennsylvania, so we took over their place until John returned on the 5th. Then John, Lars and I went up to the mountains to go camping outside of Rocky Mountain National Park. We arrived on Friday to some raindrops. We proceeded to set-up camp and make dinner. After dinner the raindrops turn to all out rain, so we ended up all in John's tent playing Uno for hours. We were hopeful that the rain would stop overnight, but it DID NOT. So the next day, we packed up all our wet stuff and drove back down to Denver. Then John left again for a work trip (he travels quite a bit). Monica was still in Pennsylvania for work, so Lars and I kept ourselves busy house hunting in the 'burbs of Denver. We found some really nice places, but in the end we did not pull the trigger and will need to keep looking after our travels.
Monica returned to Denver on Wednesday the 12th and we were able to celebrate her 35th birthday with her over the weekend. We went out to dinner at a great restaurant called Nine 75, which was really cool. We ate a bunch of tapas and great wine chosen by John. We also went out for brunch with Monica's entire family on Sunday at the Washington Park Grille - great place. It was great to see everyone. The next week, we stayed a few more days as we needed to make some decisions about housing, but on Wednesday the 19th we decided to head east towards Memphis.
