(Nick's Story)
We have done three dives and other than having a bad mask (which I will change tomorrow), the dives have been good. The one today was excellent at the House Reef. Roni is diving really well and starting to enjoy the dives more.
The last dive was fantastic. My different mask didn't fog up so I could see out of both eyes...and Roni was so confident that 'off she went...in search of fish'. I was able to enjoy the dive with great bouyancy (Red Sea is very salty), good visability and lots to see at 50ft. Highlight perhaps was the Scorpion fish, but the clam was good too...and the Fan Coral. The dive was a bit like a Cayman dive with a wall and coral.
Oh yes, and after the dive, I spent the day in a bar watching three games of football...what a good day!!
(Ronnie's story)
We did our first dive in the Red Sea at the Canyon Garden. This was a challenging dive. Our tanks were on the large side and because of the extremely high salt content of the Red Sea (second only to the Dead Sea), we had to wear extra weights. I struggled to remain neutrally buoyant... a lot of arm flapping and 2 almost complete superman ascents to the surface. During the last few minutes I was very grateful that Nick held my hand. We spent 55 minutes at the bottom and it felt good to have completed my first dive after being certified. There were more small fish and colorful coral then in our dives in Mozambique...we saw two Lion Fish and lots of other stuff that I can not name. We plan to dive again in a few days...
Today we went on another dive to Rick's Reef and I almost felt like a real diver. It was another shore dive but this time I was starting to get the hang of it... concentrating on the beautiful coral and wide array of fish. Our third dive to the House Reef was my best dive yet! The House Reef was the most beautiful sight with fantastic coral and lots of little and medium-sized fish and no other divers.
Our fourth and final dive at the Light House was Nick's favorite dive. The water was perfectly calm and initially there were no other divers. The first part of the dive we went with the current and were perfect buoyant... there was nothing to do but enjoy the fish and coral... now I understand how people become addicted to diving. My favorite part of the dive was the swimming along side the huge wall of coral.
The opportunity to dive 4 times in the Red Sea was magical and I am looking to next dive... where ever in the world it may be?
