The town of Salisbury in the valley of the River Avon is a wonderfully place from which to visit Stonehenge and Avebury. Travelers staying in town can visit the famous Salisbury Cathedral and the Salisbury and South Wiltshire Museum.  Another great place worth seeing is Old Sarum.
