Clop, swish....I'm off the chairlift, swing around and plant my poles. While waiting for the others in my party, I take look around. Panorama. I can see for miles. The nearby villages are specks. The Dolomite ranges seem to go on forever with their distinctive cragginess. The bluest skies you've ever seen (maybe it's more vivid the higher you go?). Bright sunshine. Uncrowded slopes. Charming and oh-so Tyrolean trailside "refugios" for the morning, lunch and afternoon breaks. This is my La Dolce Vita moment.
