I got up this morning and we were docked at Corfu Greece. It’s so gorgeous. It’s a cute little town with the bluest water I’ve ever seen. I worked out and then lay by the pool for the morning. It was so hot! Then we had lunch and got ready for our shore excursion.
Getting off the boat was welcome but I was not happy to be around such nice water without going to a beach. We had to walk a bit to the bus terminal to catch our tour bus. Of course it was filled with a bunch of seniors, and it wasn’t very well air conditioned. It made me really tired and not all that interested to what the tour guide was saying.
The roads here are so skinny! Driving into the hills in the big bus was no easy task. At one point we had a car wedged between us and another parked car. Everyone clapped when he finally made it through. Finally we made it to our destination which was the Achillion Palace. The Austrain Empress lived there. It certainly was no Versailles, but it was quite pretty. Especially the gardens. It had a huge balcony looking out onto the ocean and the town. There was pretty trees and plants everywhere, and lots of statues. Very Greek.
We got back on the bus and then drove around the town till we got to the old town. Here the guide gave us a few words and then let us wander. Then it was time to go. I came back to the boat and got ready for dinner. The show tonight was the singers and dancers again, but it was much better than the first time. It was a collaboration with some famous choreographer named Tommy Tune. I’ve never heard of him. After we went to the Lido deck to get water and go outside. The ship has been moving around quite a bit and the water in the pool was going crazy. It was almost coming out of it’s enclosure. Now I’m sitting in the internet cafe writing and will go to bed after.
