Got the 8am bus from La Entrada to Copan......a journey that is usually 40 mins by car took us two-and-a-half hours......as we kept on stopping literally every 2 minutes to pick up more passengers and drop off others.
Anyway, when I finally got to Copan, I checked into my hostel and headed off straight to the ruins. At the ruins I hooked up with an American couple (who I had met in Flores) and a Kiwi guy and we all got a guide together (US$5 each). The ruins were amazing but not as good as Tikal. And due to the fact that I had seen 3 ruins in the last 10 days or so, I was a bit ruined out myself. However, I must say that the details in the carvings etc in Copan were the best I have seen in all 3 ruins visited. After the ruins (a trip that took about 3 hours), I hung out with the couple for the rest of the day and we walked around town, chatted and ended up going for dinner later. Had a lot of fun. When I got back to my hostel, I met my dorm-mates, chatted for a while, then headed off to bed as I had a 6am bus to catch to La Ceiba the next day.Compare Prices
